Not for Pets on Hypoallegenic Diets or with Pancreatitis Mar 06, 2010 I bought this product for my cat whose had chronic diarrhea and has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pancreatitis. Looking at the ingredient list, I see animal fat is listed first. My cat's internist said you don't want to give a cat whose had Pancreatitis any more fat. Also, the type of animal fat is not specified. As it may be from chicken or who knows what. My cat's been put on a hypoallergenic diet of duck as the one and only protein she should have. Giving her an unknown animal fat isn't a safe choice, so I could not use this product safely for my pet.
Chemotherapy aid Feb 27, 2010 My 17 year old tabbie has been treated by chemotherapy for small cell lymphoma for the last three years. The results have been outstanding (he's still alive) but he had occasional bouts of diarrhea. Our vet recommended FortiFlora as a supplement. The result is eye-popping. Because his innards feel better, he's become a young kitty again, zipping around the house. With the Fortiflora, he's more active, happier and he has no accidents.
FortiFlora Feb 18, 2010 Vet for our cat recommended fortiflora but their price was pretty expensive. After doing a search, Amazon had the best price available and it arrived very quickly. I am saving about 1/2 the vet cost.
Works for my kitten Feb 14, 2010 One of the kittens I was adopted by was (still is) on antibiotics, and that makes him tummy way too runny. The vet gave some anti-diarrhea medication for that, and also recommended to try something like Fortiflora to get his tummy back some of the good bacteria. He really doesn't like the anti-diarrhea medication (while takes well his antibiotics), and it took a few days to get the Fortiflora stuff for him (as my local Petsmart didn't have it). After a few days of Fortiflora, he doesn't need the anti-diarrhea medication at all.
I sparkle a bit of Fortiflora on wet cat food and probably wouldn't need to mix in it all - both of my kittens like the taste of it.
FortiFlora for Cats Feb 12, 2010 Several years ago, my female cat developed severe diarrhea and frequent vomiting. She was treated at our veterinary clinic for dehydration, and several tests were performed at a cost of several hundred dollars. She has always been sensitive to food changes, and cannot tolerate any dairy products. The veterinary doctor suggested changing her to foods for extra sensitive cats, trying several different brands, but her symptoms slowly started to reoccur. It was truly a miracle when my daughter called, and said that a representative from Purina had made a stop at her place of business, and explained the benefits of FortiFlora. My daughter said I should try the product. Almost immediately my cat responded. She looked better, was happy, and all her symptoms went away. Fortiflora is a product that my cat can't live without.
